College Essay Supplement

 

The supplementary essays are essays that give you the chance to tell the admission committee about something that may not be included in your main essay. They may not be aware that some schools will require additional writing samples. Generally, supplement college essays are shorter than main college essays. An important personal statement with a common Application and/or collision Application is often an essay you need to write for college admission. Many schools include their own school-specific essays known as supplementary essays. These are additional texts that give admission officers a chance to get to know you better.

An essay is one of the most important components of the college application, except for grades, standardized test scores, and your high school courses. While the Common Application has a required essay, some colleges include their own school-specific essays known as writing supplements. Related essays give admission staff the opportunity to get to know students, and they are also an excellent measure of expressive interest.

In most cases, affiliate essays are more important or less important than your common app essay. Colleges use them in different ways. Sometimes to paint another aspect of your personality, sometimes to measure the level of your interest in their institution, and occasionally to assess some particular quality that is important to their community. In general, the purpose of college is very clear in the questions they ask (so no need to worry about trick questions or reverse psychology).

The following are the tips for writing college supplement essays:

1. Find out which supplements are needed in your college choices.

When you add a school to your list and fill out your major, you can see the suggestions you need to answer within the affiliated sections of the school.

2. Read the essay carefully.

Some schools ask why you want to attend their college like that. Do not respond by writing about the college as a whole.

3. Write about yourself.

Use each essay to present information about yourself that makes you want to go to college. Even in the “Why XYZ School” essay, you should mention something positive about yourself.

4. Keep track of the essays you want to write.

You do not want to be disappointed if you cannot get the right pitch.

5. Recycle your essays well.

If two or more colleges have similar questions, feel free to use your own story again. Do not be careless, paste in a college-specific article or details of the wrong school.

The best way to write a successful college essay for your college application is to determine what your main essay focuses on. Group all the related essay questions together and answer them all at once. Move to distinct related essay questions and answer them one at a time. Review your application articles for each school for clarity, consistency, and integrity.
